Why I get it...
I’m Athena Dobson, and I’ll be your guide and cheerleader throughout this programme.
I wasn’t born with a portfolio or a business manual in my hand. I was working 50 hour weeks in a retail travel job, permanently running on fumes. I’d do a 12 hour shift, drive an hour home, walk in the door at 9pm too tired to eat, then get up and do it again.
That isn’t living.
Then Covid hit. I lost my job and had a choice to make. That’s when I threw myself into property full time.
On paper, it looked great. I invested over £35K in property and business education. I joined the masterminds, took the courses, ticked all the boxes. Within a year I’d left my job and built a rent to rent HMO and Serviced Accommodation business, plus a small buy to let portfolio.
From the outside it looked like I’d “made it”.
But inside? I was exhausted and disconnected...
The truth was, I’d been following somebody else’s version of success. I’d built a version of a life that didn’t feel like mine - and I burnt out, twice.
What then changed me was starting to learn about subconscious development.
Did you know that although our conscious mind makes plans, your subconscious runs 95% of your behaviour. So unless your goals are aligned with your subconscious programming, it will quietly block you at every turn. This is why so many women have the right strategy but can’t execute it consistently.
Once I learnt this I am now able to run a future proof, aligned business that supports me as a person, not just the entrepreneur version most seen online.
